Increasing the quality, volume and reach of accurate beauty science content.

This report examines the role of influencers in promoting sunscreen use in Australia, in the context of rampant pro-tanning and anti-sunscreen misinformation on social media.

It presents the findings and recommendations that followed a survey of 2008 social media users interested in skincare, including 1076 Australians. Insights were also collected from 6 Australian skincare influencers on the impacts of the July 2022 Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code (TGAC) change surrounding influencer testimonials.
